WaterRower... naturally even stroke When rowing, with each stroke the oarsperson works to accelerate the mass of the boat and crew smoothly down the river. The mass of the boat and crew do not change throughout the stroke, they are the same from beginning to end. This allows the oarsperson to accelerate evenly throughout the stroke, recruiting the muscles of the legs, torso and arms uniformly. Recruiting the muscle groups uniformly allows the oarsperson to recruit all muscle groups in proportion to their strength. Spreading the work uniformly over all muscle groups optimises the work done within the limits of fatigue, making rowing the most efficient aerobic exercise. When rowing correctly, a 80% intensity workout will induce 80% intensity in the legs, 80% intensity in the torso and 80% intensity in the arms and shoulders. Burning more overall energy without fatiguing. |

Conventional resistance based rowing machines, tend to fade as the resistance is overcome and fail to spread the work evenly over the muscle groups. Thus fatiguing certain muscle groups more than others and under optimising the exercise benefit derived. WaterRower.... maximise muscles, minimise fatigue Self Regulating Resistance- The Theory
